Have you ever wanted to increase your skills when working with LGBTQIA+ clients, partners and their families?
Would you like support in seeing how to better support your queer and transgender clients? This training is appropriate for all clinicians, regardless of their current skills and case conceptualization of working with these clients. We will work together to build your competency and confidence to best support the LGBTQIA+ communities. No matter where you are in your personal or professional journey, this training will not only enhance your practice, but your life.
In this experiential and interactive workshop, mental health professionals will develop deeper knowledge of how to support their LGBTQIA+ clients, colleagues, friends, selves and/or become better allies.
You will learn to be more knowledgeable and comfortable working with people in these various communities. This training will utilize lectures, clinical case conceptualizations, interactive discussions and first person lived experiences. Asher will help you move from a place of concept and theory to more confidence and knowledge that will create lasting change for you and your clients.

View All TrainingsAbout Asher Eno, LPC, LMFT
Asher A. Eno (he/him/his), LPC, LMFT, is a queer transgender man with lived experience and over 20 years of supporting the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and asexual (LGBTQIA+) communities. He uses his own lived and clinical experience in his trainings, as Asher believes it is helpful to share human experiences when exploring these topics. Asher is licensed professional counselor and licensed marriage and family therapist dedicated to enhancing the psychological well-being of LGBTQIA+ teens, adults, intimate relationships and families. He is the founder and owner of Infinite Possibilities Counseling in Denver, Colorado.
Asher has given over 60 trainings and presentations to various organizations and academic institutions on LGBTQIA+ mental health and gender affirming care. Previously, Asher held adjunct faculty positions in Colorado teaching in the areas of human sexuality, psychology, and counselor education. Asher hold a master’s of arts in human sexuality studies and a master’s of arts in couple and family counseling. He is a gender affirming therapist, a member of WPATH, and a clinical supervisor to gender affirming therapists in training.

Transportation:
Uber/other ride shares, while readily available, are not allowed to enter the Arrivals area at PUJ. While they are a 1/3 of the cost of a taxi, you will need to meet the Uber on the main road in front of the airport, which is a short walk. Registered airport taxis are available, or you can choose to preschedule a shuttle.
For your return trip from Iberostar back to the airport, many hotels prohibit Ubers from entering. If you choose to book an Uber you might be required to leave the Iberostar property and wait on your ride in front of their main entrance. Alternatively, Iberostar can call a taxi or you can pre-arrange a shuttle.

- Identify the different LGBTQIA+ Communities and describe the differences between sex assigned at birth, physical attraction, emotional attraction, gender expression and gender identity
- Apply various developmental models that help us describe our LGBTQIA+ clients’ developmental phases when helping them explore their sexualities and genders
- Identify our own positionality in our sexualities and genders so we can integrate the impact this may have on our LGBTQIA+ clients and therapeutic relationships
- Summarize issues experienced by many LGBTQIA+ clients, their families, and significant others, including common coexisting mental health diagnoses
- Describe types of gender-affirming medical transitions and explain the current Standards of Care when helping clients access care
- Identify generational differences between LGBTQIA+ individuals and communities
- Summarize common dynamics in LGBTQIA+ intimate relationships
- Describe dynamics in LGBTQIA+ family systems and family dynamics
